The 16th Annual Nantwich Fiddle Day is all set to take place around Nantwich on Saturday 25th March and this year promises to be better than ever before. Working in partnership with Malbank School, Amplifier, Folkus and Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council the day will now involve special youth workshops on any instrument led by Shooting Roots, a specialist team working with traditional music and young people.

For those fiddlers outside of the 12-25 age group Incredible String Band member Fluff will lead a workshop aimed at beginners of all ages (up to grade 3 standard). This is followed by a workshop in English Morris Tunes and Improvisation given by Guy Fletcher from England’s finest ceilidh band Tickled Pink.

After an afternoon of learning you can sit back and enjoy the talents of the workshop leaders in a concert setting. The concert features Guy Fletcher, Gareth Turner and Miranda Sykes in a fantastic trio of Fiddle, Melodeon and Guitar plus the performance by the Youth Workshops and other special Guests.

Following this the Boat Band will host a special acoustic session upstairs in the Crown where other musicians from the day may also appear for some less formal music making. This part of the event is to raise funds for the Nantwich Folk & Roots Festival.
