MusicLeader North West has been working with other Youth Music Action Zones across the region to bring local musicians together for a night of live, free-style music making. It's been happening all over the North West over the last couple of months and here's what Greater Manchester has to offer for the last night in the series.

Local Heros: Fusions will be hosted by Chris Jam (Speakeasy, Rainbow Soul & Rainy City) and will see, musicians, vocalist and rappers from across the region combine with a live band, live sampling and DJs playing together throughout the night. Nothing is set in stone for this round of Local Heros, there's no established act or set, but there is a room full of musicians leading the way for an audience of music lovers ready to follow. You'll have heard the phrase before: “the rules are, there are no rules”, and anyone can get up on the Local Heros stage and join in on this improvisation and networking event.

This is a night not to be missed, which will bring you nothing but the unexpected. In the past Local Heros has seen a Canadian fiddler playing alongside drum'n'bass MCs, and a string quartet backing hip-hop tracks. Whether you just want to sit and listen, get up and dance, or whether you have the urge to get up and sing, strum or make beats, make sure you get down to Local Heros: Fusions with your instrument and see what happens.
