Eh!! Don’t you get a nice glowing feeling when you do a good turn for someone? I was at the cash machine and there was a very old lady pressing her head right up to the glass her eyesight was very poor. She said to me can you please do me a favour and check my balance, so I pushed her over
Live At The DSS
now available to buy via the website
The most recent Dom Collins cd outing is now available to buy direct from the website at www.domcollins.co.uk.
Live At The DSS was diggi ... didgy ... digitelly ... er, taped earlier this year at Droylsden Sports And Social Club with the accompaniment of a raucous audience, each armed with a kazoo and individually credited by name on the cd sleeve.
And it's on sale to you for just £6 including postage. Bargain or what!
New Songs
Well that’s another year nearly gone and here comes another batch of new songs. Hopefully by the end of this year I will have CD number 3 done and dusted. I am really excited about this one and I got loads of new tracks to choose from:
“I’m an acoustic mercenary” (I will play a gig anywhere you know)
“As kids we went to Blackpool” (Nostalgic song about our once year holiday, if we were lucky)
“Traditional folk club” (Don’t go there without a woolly jumper)
“The Haemorrhoid song” (I think I will stand up if you don’t mind)
“Advice about Thailand” (What every boy should know)
“The Bogie Man” (Everybody picks there nose at traffic lights, it says so in the Highway Code)
“Being a City fan” (A song about the roller costar ride, the ups and the downs)
“The Taxman’s song” (After I got bubbled to the Inland Revenue I wrote a song about the whole episode)
“Don’t call us coffin dodgers” (An affectionate song about my elderly fans)
“Don’t go out with Mr Tight” (I reckon everybody knows at least one who just won’t get the beer in )
“I gone from Council house to Opera House” (This is the story about my time with Dave Spikey)
“A week on a beach in Ancoats” (They are building a beach in Ancoats who needs Florida, Me)
“The Mancunian Way (A song all about the good and the great side of Manchester)
“The bride was 8 months pregnant” (It’s a typical family wedding, 13 verses)

My Space
Everyone has a my-space website now so “av a look” at mine on
www.myspace.com/domcollins
Comedy singer songwriter of the year 2006, who is “Me”
I took part in the country’s only comedy songwriting competition two weeks ago at The Ingleton Folk festival And guess what I won the thing, how good is that then, that’s the first thing I have won since the egg and spoon race in Ancoats, (well we did have the coppers behind us).
Global Dom’s world wide news
I have been invited over to Ireland for a week (Cork and County Sligo) to play some bars, so it looks like that the summer break planned. There is also a friend of mine in Puerto Rico Gran Canaries who wants me to go over just after Christmas and play some auditions for a few bar owners , I may need a holiday after all them gigs in December - Even Santa gets Christmas day off
And I must mention Thor Lawrence of the Dom Collins Reykjavik Fan Club, Iceland (Sole member). He say’s “Anyway, thanks for the CDs -- they were well worth it. Pity I am unlikely to ever hear you live.” Say you never know pal, you are penciled in on my world tour.
I have also sold quite a few CDs in Australia; it’s your move guy’s.
I am always available to travel anywhere in the world to play a gig for you, Not for a free holiday, But because I am totally devoted to you (Ye right!!!)
Final word
As you all know I am a postman and I am forever getting stopped and being asked for directions, A bloke asked me the other day “What is the quickest way to The Trafford Centre?”. I said to him are you in a car, he said yes, I said that’s the quickest way.
Take care guys and see you all very soon
