GREETINGS!! Is there a little Summertime on it's way? The Globe garden is showing early signs of bloom, the Sunday diners are starting to come out in their droves, and The Globe Brewery is lining up fine quality home brewed ales for the new season ahead.

If you're with us this weekend as we move from March to April, we have indie DJ's, live rock, easy listening jazz, and a range of quality ales, all priced equally at £2 a pint, as follows:

  • Strong Stout - A Guiness like brew coming in at a superb 5.2%
  • New Dawn - A hoppy brew for the milder pallette at 4%
  • Pale Face - An outstanding Strong Ale, top of the tree at 5.3%
  • Eclipse - A superb Brown Ale tasty and refreshing at 4.3%

And please do look beyond this weekend, open your diary and take note of forthcoming attractions that include the likes of Curragh Sons, Jon Gomm, and regular favourties Colours Run.

The Curragh SonsSat 28th April - Curragh Sons
With nearly 200 years of live music between them, it’s no wonder that the Curragh Sons are the busiest band this side of the Liffy. Their influences are many, from Joni Mitchell to New Order and from the Dubliners to Led Zepplin. A mixer of such genres has given the band a hugh following across the UK and Ireland. This has lead to such comments from the likes of Kevin Conneff of the Chieftains who said of a recent performance “Powerful stuff, powerful stuff!”

Over the years, Ben Lee Tyler has written extraordinary songs that never fail to capture the undivided attention of his audience. Through powerful rock instrumentals guided by sweeping vocal melodies he expresses emotion brilliantly and you are guaranteed to be blown away! 19-year old Alex's story like most great rock and roll tales begins, with a boy, a guitar and a head full of songs.19-year old Alex's story like most great rock and roll tales begins, with a boy, a guitar and a head full of songs. Such passion and abundant talent was surely what appealed to production, house/Indie label 'My Recordings', Alex's musical home who discovered him at the age of 15 and helped him take his music to the next level. Come along and watch this... I doubt you’ll see these guys playing this kind of venue again... Once you’ve heard them you’ll know what I mean!!!

Sat 19th May - Piefinger (free)
"Piefinger are a breath of fresh air in this acoustic revival," says Keith Warmington of BBC Radio Bristol. "They write, play and perform with absolute originality. They were one of my favourite sessions of the year."Piefinger have been pulling large and excitable crowds to their London shows for the last couple of years," says the EP review for Acoustic Music website, the Virtually Acoustic Club (www.thevac.co.uk). With their mixture of "wry lyrics, infectious violin pizzicato and a trademark slow build-crescendo-aftershock arrangement, their vocal harmony and counterpoint often scrapes the genius of the Indigo Girls" inspired interplays.
