Activity: Easter Bunny

When you think of Easter what springs to mind (sorry no pun intended). Yummy chocolate eggs, cute yellow chicks or perhaps fluffy rabbits? So why not have a go at making these cheeky bunnies; they'll look great on the wall.

You will need:

• Paper plates (pack of 100 AU0199 – one per rabbit)
• Brown ready mixed paint (AU0583)
• White ready mixed paint (AU0592)
• Washable PVA glue (500ml AU0413)
• Black card (AU0068 A4 pack of 100)
• People paper (AU0283)
• Animal pom poms (AU0283 – two same sized per rabbit)
• Black pipe cleaners (pack of 100 AU0276 – 3 1/2 per rabbit)
• Brushes (pack of 10 junior chubby brushes AU0053)
• Scissors (pack of 10 kindergarten scissors AU1316)
• Multi-purpose scissors (AU0949 for cutting pipe cleaners)
• Template (CLICK HERE)
• Black pen

What you do:

1. Mix the brown and white paint then cover the back of the paper plate.
2. Place to one side and allow to dry.
3. Whilst the paint is drying use the template to cut out the sections following our picture as a colour guide.
4. Attach the inner ear sections to the outer ear sections and attach to the unpainted side of the plate.
5. Using the edge of the scissors curl the hair section slightly and attach to the painted side of the place, between the ears.
6. Draw a line down the middle of the teeth.
7. Stick the nose in the middle of the plate then just below this stick the teeth, leaving a 1cm (1/2) gap between the two.
8. Now attach the pom poms either side of the nose.
9. Cut three of the pipe cleaners in half and place three halves either side of the pom poms.
10. Stick the inner eye sections to the outer eye sections then attach just above the nose.
11. To create the eye brows use one quarter of a pipe cleaner, slightly bend then stick in place.
12. For the finishing touch add a little white paint to the nose and the eyes as a highlight. 

Note:
Four (two pairs) of outer ears can be cut from one sheet of A4, eight inner ears (four pairs) can be cut from a piece of A4.

Alternate idea:
The features can be painted on using ready mixed paint if preferred.

Pom pom caterpillars are easy and fun to make. Simply dip your pom poms in PVA and stick to a craft stick. Use smaller pom poms for the feet and nose. Add wiggly eyes and leave on one side to dry.
