Flipping new album

Recording of the new album continues at a pace. We are currently considering a couple of titles. These are ‘by numbers’ or ‘triskaidekaphobia’. The feeling at roomie HQ is the latter but until the album is finished we have more then enough to contend with without wasting more precious brain cells and time debating the album title.

We have twelve songs in differing states of readiness. We don’t want to give too much away in terms of direction but it is a departure from ‘easterlinparadox’. Though it is quintessentially a roomthirteen sound. One of the new songs ‘something to believe in’ was used to launch a festival of the same name which was staged at the tale end of August. The festival and the song was a vehicle for raising money for the Winnie Mabaso Foundation who provide care and support to children in South Africa whose lives have bee affected by AIDS/HIV. Those of you that regularly support the band will know of our support for the foundation but for more information go to wwwwinniemabaso.org

“something to believe in“ is till getting regular national airtime on Smooth FM and the roomies would like to thank Lynn Parsons for her support of the Winnie Mabaso Foundation. The single and the DVD are available for download on I-Tunes.

Live

There has been limited activity in terms of live performance. The roomies have concentrated all their efforts on recording the new album, however the band did perform at the BBC in August on the opening night of the ‘something to believe in’ festival.

The roomies have also played a couple of gigs near Blackpool and tried out several new songs, which were really well received.

The next official gig is on December 2nd at the Globe the High Street Glossop Derbyshire. We have a couple of really tip top people supporting that evening. It also an opportunity to come and celebrate another year in life of roomie John and Brian who were born a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away on or around this date.

Join us at the Globe. Go on you know you want to

Good news

The roomies would like to thank John Done for causing no end of concern, anxiety and consternation after his recent admission to hospital. John had a fairly serious rash and you know…..... Probably best leave it there eh.....… Seriously Good to see ‘little John’ on the mend and if you get chance wish him well as lord knows he loves all that kind of attention.

Cry

What a bloody shocker. We were sat in roomie HQ when a man from the BBC rang and asked if it would be ok to use the song ‘cry’ as part of this years memorial for the victims of the Hillsborough disaster. As many of you will know the song was written as a mark of respect and solidarity with the families and loved ones of the victims of that dreadful day.

Words cannot begin to articulate the immense pride we felt to have the song included. A huge thank you to Billy Butler and the team at BBC Radio Merseyside for even considering the song. A moment to remember forever from a roomie perspective that.

You can find the song and video on YouTube and all monies raised from downloading the song go to the campaign for the Hillsborough Justice Campaign Go to http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/ for more information
